Esther Aoko

Esther Aoko is a 22 year old sexual and reproductive health youth advocate, feminist, and community volunteer and software programmer from Nairobi, Kenya. Esther is currently working as a Communications Officer at Positive Young Women Voices.

Esther has taken part in various community outreaches and dialogues that were intended to educate the members of the community on their Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. She has great community mobilization and sensitization skills, social media advocacy skills, and peer training. In her efforts to advance gender equality, she has written and published several articles on local newspapers and digital platforms as she believes that media is a powerful tool for creating change. She has four years’ worth of experience in the Sexual and Reproductive Health advocacy field. The 22-year-old has been selected to participate in various programs like My Sister’s Keeper and Husika programs by Emerging Leaders Foundation. She has also had the privilege of attending various conferences and presenting her abstracts. She has a certificate in Data Science, Software Programming, Mobile App Development and Programs Management. Esther envisions a world where one’s gender is not a barrier and women in all their diversities are able to access equal opportunities.
