Rebecca Mbewe

I am a mentor, speaker and trainer with long standing experience of working within the HIV sector. I also have lived experience of living well with HIV for over 20 years. I am passionate about gender equality and women’s health and reproductive rights and as such am an active member of the UK Community Advisory Board (UKCAB). I also sit on the British HIV Association (BHIVA) Steering Group Committee as a community representative. I am an Associate at the Salamander Trust, which aims to protect, promote and enhance the health and rights of people marginalised by societies worldwide as a result of their gender, HIV status or sexual and reproductive health issues. I am one of three directors for 4M Mentor Mothers Network CIC.   I helped to lead the Growing Older Wiser Stronger (GROWS) project in my role as GROWS Training and Project Coordinator at Positively UK, a project that looks at issues that affect women and ageing.  I am now a research Assistant at Queen Mary’s University London.
